2026/27 Age Groups

The soccer age groups for the 2026/2027 season were changed to a school-year system in order to better align youth soccer with how children are naturally grouped in school and in most other sports. Instead of separating players strictly by calendar birth year, the school-year format keeps classmates and friends together, which helps create more stable teams, stronger social connections, and improved player retention. This change also supports long-term development by allowing players to stay with the same peer group as they progress through the years, making the transition into middle school and high school soccer more consistent. Overall, the school-year age grouping was adopted to provide a more familiar, balanced, and supportive environment for young athletes.
